The South West London (SWL) Acute Provider Collaborative (APC) Diagnostic Programme are now focussing energy and plans on:
- Digitisation and the integration of AI opportunities across diagnostics services to pave the way for further transformation including improved productivity, improved utilisation of available resources, and more efficient use of the services.
- Investment in the equipment replacement programme to ensure equipment with the latest technology is available, which will improve throughput and productivity.
- Workforce development and improved opportunities across SWL to enable the APC to collectively improve recruitment and retention.
- Demand optimisation and reduction of unwarranted variation to enable more effective use of capacity and ensure access to diagnostic services is timely and based on patient need.
- Exploring opportunity to increase GP direct access straight to test pathways aligned to clinical pathways to support the delivery of the elective care reform strategy.
