This webinar is one of a series of events taking place within our Health Inequalities programme.

Content:

This interactive online event will:

• Discuss the impact of low reading levels and understanding of health information on patients' access to healthcare services and on poorer health outcomes.
• Explore the role of 'health literacy' in providing clear and accessible verbal and written communication with patients and communities.
• Share examples from trusts and systems that have committed to becoming 'health literate' organisations and how this meets their goals in reducing health inequalities and improving patient experience.
• Provide an opportunity for delegates to share their own experiences and challenges of implementing 'health literacy. tools within their organisation.

• Simon Watts - public health consultant, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
• Ryan Swiers - public health consultant, South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust and health literacy lead, North East and North Cumbria integrated care board.
