From July 2022, Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) were established through statutory integrated care boards (ICBs) and integrated care partnerships (ICPs), with the intention that much of their business is conducted through place-based partnerships and provider collaboratives.
NHS providers are key players in delivering the four key priorities of integrated care systems: improving outcomes in population health and healthcare; tackling health inequalities in outcomes, experience, and access to healthcare; boosting productivity and value for money; and supporting broader economic and social development in local communities.
Our four-year strategy is centred on the need to support our members to navigate this new landscape, supporting them to work collaboratively within and across systems. We also aim to influence and shape emerging policy, and to act as the established voice of providers working within local systems.
