Building on insights from CORE20PLUS5, November 2022
Health Inequalities webinar, held on 10 November 2022.
The panel reflected on how the Core20PLUS5 approach has brought needed focus and simplicity to health inequalities, and explored how further insights can enable trusts to maximise their understanding of health inequalities and how to reduce them. The discussion explored:
- the need to adapt Core20PLUS5 to the needs of your local population, with examples of how North West Ambulance Service has done this.
- the importance of building capability around health inequalities, training and educating staff, supported by strategic leadership and accountability.
- trying to address health inequalities by focusing solely on individual behaviour glosses over the real issues, such as barriers to access and lack of trust.
