Managing conflicts of interest
We are currently working with NHS England and NHS Improvement to produce a series of short publications, this being the first in this series, to encourage increased compliance.
This document argues that while there is no reason to believe that the NHS has a problem with conflicts of interest, it is still important to demonstrate that potential conflicts are being identified and properly managed.
Proper recording and publishing of potential conflicts of interest is therefore central to evidencing the open, transparent culture that trusts strive to maintain.
While each of our publications will deal with a different barrier to compliance with a short case study setting out an approach to dealing with it, this briefing, focuses on learning from Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and their use of supportive technology to register staff interests.
