In February, the government published its white paper on integration setting out proposals to accelerate joint working across health and social care at place level. It included a set of questions for implementation to which NHS Providers responded outlining the views of trust leaders. We fully support the government’s ambition to accelerate the delivery of joined-up health and social care; however, we also want to ensure that any unintended consequences are avoided, and that the potentially complex and far-reaching nature of the white paper’s proposals are fully thought through.
