On 9 March 2023, NHS England published the annual NHS staff survey results. The survey ran from September to December 2022, amid winter demand, all-time high vacancy rates, a cost of living crisis and widespread industrial action. The survey was aligned to the overarching categories of the NHS People Promise and there were a number of new questions related to patient safety.
